Great news for Accessibility! Oregon State Parks will spend the next 25 years making their parks more accessible to disabled visitors. The plan will see improvements made to signage, ramps, and bathroom stalls to meet ADA guidelines and make parks more accessible to visitors who have disabilities. In total, 4,782 barriers were identified across 273 different locations. Issues with doors, parking lots, and restrooms made up over half of the barriers, while other issues liken the need to widen some trails are complex projects. It will take up to 25 years to removal all 4782 barriers, but work will begin this July.
