San Francisco based Alice Wong is working to make space for more disabled Asian Americans like her with her 'Disability Visibility' project.
Growing up, Alice not only felt out of place among her peers as one of only a few Asian Americans at her school, but with the addition of her wheelchair and BiPAP machine she felt even more different and longed to just blend in and be invisible. Inaccessibility and the stigma surrounding disability left her struggling with her own identity. She now advocates for young people so that they won't have those same experiences.

Being involved in ADA design and construction has given me the opportunity to help a lot of business owners and commercial property owners prevent costly ADA compliant lawsuits.
